PMI-West Michigan Chapter March 13, 2017 Dinner Meeting

Session 1 Presentation: Value Creation vs. Project Success

Managing our projects to the triple constraint is paramount to project success. However, I would like to suggest that even though these aspects are important to managing the project, they do not create value for the organization. The real value comes from realizing the benefits that are the result of the project.

Session 1 Presenter: Mike Krouse

As the Chief Security Officer for Medical Informatics Engineering, Mike’s paramount concern is safeguarding the protected health information of MIE’s clients. In addition to healthcare, he also has experience in banking as an Information Security Officer and insurance as IT Audit Manager and Director of the Project Management Office.

Within the community, Mike is a the Past President and Region 2 Liaison for the Northeast Indiana Chapter of the PMI, member of InfraGard, ISSA, and Website Chairman for the Fort Wayne Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He also volunteers his time with Junior Achievement and Real Men Read.

Session 2 Presentation: Convenience, Access, and Community: “Getting Real” with the PMI Talent Triangle

Projects demand different combinations of technical “know-how”, leadership, strategic, and business management expertise. Amy and Dan will share practical project experiences – both rewarding and challenging - in the PM Talent Triangle and discuss how decisions made to apply Triangle competencies (and when) has “really” helped or hindered each project’s success.

Session 2 Presenters: Amy Flick, PMP & Dan McGraw

Amy L. Flick, PMP, is a Principal Owner and Practice Lead at DPT. Amy is a versatile leader with experiences in sales, process assessment, project and portfolio leadership, and developing teams that perform. Amy is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and when she’s not working she enjoys skiing, biking, and hitting the links!

Dan McGraw is a Senior Consultant at DPT. Dan has spent almost 20 years in the Information Technology field specializing in technical project leadership surrounding applications and infrastructure. Dan is an avid cyclist who enjoys mountain biking, road racing and the occasional triathlon.
