Hariharan Ramaswamy

Hari is a Senior Financial Consultant for Data Consulting Group and has been working with the City of Detroit for the past 18 years. He is well seasoned in Oracle ERP, data analytics, operational controls, integrated solutions and project management. Hari has earned masters’ degrees in Psychology, Computer Applications, IT Management, and Accounting, Economics, and Banking while pursuing his interest in the study of General Law. Most recently, he received his MBA in Finance & Accounting from Oakland University and his PMP certification.

Apart from continually expanding his knowledge, Hari loves to devote time to regional and national non-profit organizations as a Finance Auditor and event coordinator. On the weekends, Hari likes to plan trips to visit his kids on the East Coast and volunteer at Hospice.

Sharry Fealk

Sharry Fealk is Vice President and Fraud Strategy and Compliance Manager in the Enterprise Fraud Management group at Comerica Bank. Prior to this role, Sharry was a Sr. Technical Project Manager in Comerica's Information Services Enterprise Project Management Office. Sharry is a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and certified Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt. Sharry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Project Management.

Director of Volunteer Management

B. Kent Potts, Jr.

Kent Potts, PMP, is Sr. Program Manager for Meritor, Commercial Vehicle Systems, a tier-1, global manufacturer of automotive components and integrated systems. Kent serves as 2019 Director Volunteer Management, and has served in various roles on the PMIGLC chapter Board for the past 5 years.  He has also held various leadership, engineering, quality, and consulting positions within multiple locations of Meritor, AlliedSignal Automotive, Yale Materials Handling Corp., and Dover Corp. Kent has lead multinational programs – most recently in China and Mexico. He has three US and EU patents pending for manufacturing process equipment and product designs. Kent holds both Master of Engineering and BSIE degrees from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. He has practiced with PMP certification from Project Management Institute, Inc. since 2003. Kent has been published in Computers and Industrial Engineering, and he has spoken at several engineering and project management events.

Director of Symposium

Michele Patera

Michele Patera is a Program Management Lead for Nokia Networks specializing in Multi-Vendor Maintenance Global Programs. In this customer facing roll, she supports her team and leads cross-functional teams to execute quality services for customer satisfaction and is accountable for deliverables and financials.  She has been in the Telecommunications industry for 28 years supporting various functions such as Credit Management, Customer Service, Process Planning, and for the last 18 years Program Management. She is an advocate of building relationships and collaboration for successful business and participates in the corporate mentoring/coaching program.

 

Michele holds a BSBA from Central Michigan University, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute, and became PMP certified in 2005.  She became a member of the PMI St. Louis Chapter in 1999 and joined the Great Lakes Chapter in 2005. Michele began volunteering with the GLC in 3/2017 as a Brand Marketing Manager and supported various initiatives serving the Membership and Volunteer teams.  Michele is also currently active supporting programs in her church. In previous years she was an active member of the National Association of Credit Management and served as President, VP, and Secretary of the Credit and Financial Development Division of NACM.

Director of Certification

Carmen Mancini, Jr.

Carmen is a Director of Solution Architecture at Ally Financials, leading a highly skilled team who focus on delivery to their business partners solutions through innovative technology delivery. Carmen has over 30+ years of solution architecture, program/project management, business, and technical experience in the support of advanced technologies solutions and outsourced operations supporting banking, financial services, risk management, insurance (life, property, and causality), and manufacturing clients. Carmen brings a unique mix with his strong architecture design, technical consulting, and ability to manage projects from a program/project level, and his business and industry knowledge. He has demonstrated an ability to effectively manage project challenges such as fixed date, multiple vendors, and cross platform solutions. Carmen brings solutions to the business through management of international support teams and vendors across the world. His participative leadership style and excellent skills in cross-functional team building, quality performance, and productivity improvement makes him an asset to any team.

 

Carmen is a PMP certified program/project manager who has managed multiple new development and enhancement projects in support of an endless stream of clients. Carmen has experience in traditional ‘Waterfall’ project but well versed in Agile Project management.

Director of Seminars

Beverly Maddox

Beverly Maddox, CMP, is director of signature events for the Detroit Regional Chamber and is
responsible for planning production and logistics for events ranging from individualized meetings
to full-scale events of up to 1,400 in attendance. She has been with the Chamber since 1996 and
has held several positions including administrative assistant to the executive assistant in the
president’s office and Special Events Coordinator to the economic development department.
Maddox was the recipient of both the Oval award and named Meeting Planner of the Year in 2010
by Meeting Professionals International, a professional membership organization for corporate,
association and independent meeting planners. Maddox earned a bachelor’s degree in business
administration from Ferris State University in 1996 and received her certification as a meeting planner
in 2010. She, her husband and two sons reside in Shelby Township. She is also the mother of two
step-daughters.

Director of Academic

Minimol Mathew

Minimol Mathew is our Director of Academic Outreach. Mini has been a volunteer for the Outreach for a number of years and has been very active with teaching GLC’s PMP 101 Skills for Life workshop for community non-profits , schools and academic institutions like Oakland University DIS department undergraduates.

Mini is an Enterprise Project Management Office Manager for Little Caesars Enterprises/Ilitch Holdings. Prior to that she was a PMO manager at Rainbow Rehabilitation centers where she established a PMO office from scratch. She also served as an IT Director for Continuity Programs. Mini completed her Masters in Physics from Cochin University of Science & Technology, India. She got her PMP in 2008. As the Director of Academic Outreach, Mini will be working with the institutions of higher learning to help them integrate PM skills into their curriculum, assist with providing them with PM speakers, case studies and assistance from PMI and our chapter.

Director of Volunteer Promotion

Thagu Vivek

Thagu Vivek is currently employed as a Program Manager at DCS, Inc, Troy, Michigan. Managing the entire Data Management Suite of Products and Programs - leading a software development team including new business development, brand development, marketing, customer relations, new products architecture and distribution network initiatives. He has more than 19 years experience in project management and program management areas, with applications ranging from manufacturing, software design, quality control, Engineering services, and Information technology. He received his Program Management (PgMP) certification from Project Management Institute(PMI).He has a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a MBA from Oakland University. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society of Quality.

Gilbert H Rollins, II

Gilbert (Gil) Rollins was a Managing Consultant with EDS, retiring at the beginning of 2005. He has over 30 years of project management experience ranging from one location, privately held to multi-billion, multinational firms. Gil has been an active member of PMI/GLC/ISSIG since 1996, working on membership surveys and 3 years on Membership Committee. Gil is our current VP of Finance/Treasurer. He was the VP of Membership for two years, VP of Administration/Secretary and Director of Finance Operations. Gil has a BS/ME - Kettering University, Flint, MI (formerly General Motors Institute).

Director of Meetings

Jan Nicholas Beneker

Nick Beneker is an IT Project Management Leader. He holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Risk Management Professional (RMP) certifications from PMI.  He has be a member of PMI since 2001 and joined the Great Lakes Chapter in 2017. He also has ITILv3 Foundations, Service Design, Service Operations and Continual Service Improvement certifications. Nick has an MBA from the University of Michigan and undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Biology from Oakland University. 
Nick worked for Unisys Corporation for 37 years where he started as a mainframe computer operator and progressed through positions such as application developer, process and data modeler, project manager, program manager, Earned Value Management manager, process engineering manager, proposal developer and lead of the Unisys Federal Systems Project Management Community of Practice.  The first half of his career was supporting Unisys Internal IT and the last 15 years were in Unisys Federal Systems Division based in Reston Virginia. 
Nick lives with his wife Debby in West Bloomfield, Michigan. They have two sons, one in Chicago IL and the other in Boulder CO.

Director of Speakers

Suja Joseph

Suja is a Business transformation professional with more than 15 years leadership experience in the areas relating to Information Technology (IT) Profile Management, Asset Management, On-boarding, Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge Base Management delivering application and infrastructure enterprise projects.  Highly skilled in executing planning, scheduling, organizing, and tracking processes, ensuring the feasibility of each deliverable for projects while accountable for the alignment with business objectives and business expectations.  Suja has worked at EDS/HP and has performed consultant work at Marathon Oil, Air Liquide and Shell Oil.

As Speaker Director at PMI GLC since 2010, Suja continues to be an asset to the PMI community by securing speakers for dinner meetings, Spring Symposium and PDD.  She enjoys developing a rapport with the speakers, and does whatever she can to meet the needs of the speaker, as well as, the Chapter.

Suja also loves being involved with her church, especially teaching children, while she is also devoted to her husband and three boys.

Director of Scholarly Research

Werner Gottwald, Ph.D.

W. Don Gottwald is currently a Professor at Capella University with primary responsibilities for mentoring PhD students engaged in research for their dissertations. He is also the Information Technology mentor lead, as well as the chair of the University Faculty Review Panel. He has developed multiple courses at the baccalaureate, Masters, and doctoral level assuring that all courses are aligned with the latest PMI requirements.  Previous experience included assignments serving as an educator and project/program manager in a variety of academic and industry positions, including department chair of Computer Information Systems and Quantitative Methods, Director of the M.S. in Business Information Technology, and Professor of Business Information Technology and Project Management. He has held several IT management and technical positions in Health Care, Medical Insurance, Telecommunications, Automotive, Retail, and K-12. He earned his Ph.D. at Wayne State University and is a Certified Computing Professional and Project Management Professional. His professional experience included Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Business Process Management, Technical Project Management and Leadership, Network Architecture and Information Systems Security, as well as international operations and marketing. His primary research interests include project Leadership Practices that provide Extraordinary Results; project initiation practices vs. strategic intent; communication and leadership aspects for determining optimum team composition in virtual situations. He also specializes in taking over projects/programs that are in serious jeopardy and bringing them to a successful conclusion

Trustee

Neil P Goldman

Mr. Goldman, is a PMP certified Project / Program Manager with 30 years of extensive experience interfacing up to the CEO level, managing global projects valued up to 60 million dollars with teams of up to 200 people in Fortune 500 companies in Information Technology. He has held numerous local and global leadership positions within the Project Management Institute (PMI), including Chapter President. In several companies, he was responsible for creating a central Project Management Office (PMO) from scratch or improving existing ones, to increase multiple project performance. He has also has been an instructor at Macomb Community College (Warren, MI), and has been teaching both PMP preparation, as well as Project Management and MS Project classes since 1998. 

Neil holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University (Southfield, MI)
