From the President’s Desk – March 2023

Hello PMIGL Chapter Members,Spring begins on the 20th of this month which is welcomed after all the snow and icy weather.  Our first annual Community Day of Service event that was planned for March 4th, unfortunately, required cancellation due to the storm.  Many volunteers worked diligently towards this event to support several non-profit organizations with program management expertise. A special “thanks” to the Outreach volunteers and looking forward to the rescheduled date for this event. 

With the winter season behind us, we have several more upcoming events to offer you. The annual Volunteer Recognition and Happy Hour event on March 22nd is a great meeting that offers a special thank you to the volunteers, provides a great networking opportunity, and provides a forum for new members to connect with their PMI peers. The annual Spring Symposium on April 21st offers a full day of professional development with exceptional speakers and great cuisine. These are two great activities and I invite you to join us in the fun.

As part of our support and grow focus this year, one area in progress is to gear up with a Next Generation “NextGen” program.  This team will be focused on membership growth and support of our Rising Leaders.  Please reach out if you have interest in supporting this initiative or if you have suggestions for upcoming professional development or networking events.  We are here to serve and look forward to your feedback.
